Working Party Update
Thank you to all who expressed interest to join the Western NSW Local Health District Physical Health Working Party.
Two Consumer Representatives have joined the group and continue to be involved in co-design projects to progress the work of the committee.
The current focus of the Working Party is to improve diabetes management for people accessing Mental Health Services and includes:

- linking people into education, support and treatment during admission and
- identifying support needed for physical and mental health care after a hospital admission
Western NSW Local Health District are seeking representatives with lived experience of mental health to join the Improving Physical Health Care in Mental Health Working Party.
Working party members will identify initiatives to improve access to high quality, holistic, person-centred physical health care.

Please consider applying if you:
- have a particular interest of experience in physical health care for people living with mental health
- are keen to act as a representative for your community and seek broader feedback
- can commit to attending meetings
Meetings will be held monthly during business hours (approx. 1-2 hours including time to read meeting papers). Meetings will be held virtually. The first meeting will be in February.
The committee will include staff members working in physical health care and/ or mental health care roles and two consumer or carer representatives.
Western NSW Local Health District is dedicated to collaborating with consumers, carers, and communities. By working together, we aim to enhance health outcomes and ensure the safety and quality of our healthcare services.
