We aim to provide high-quality, safe and culturally responsive maternity care for women in Western NSW Local Health District. We want to partner with the multicultural community to co-design education and training for staff to better support women from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Who we are looking for
Women from a culturally or linguistically diverse background who have used maternity services at Bathurst, Dubbo, Cowra, Lachlan, Mudgee or Orange. We would also like to hear from family members or support people of women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
What you will do
You will work closely with the midwifery team to inform and develop educational resources for midwives, obstetricians, and other staff who work in maternity care in Western NSW LHD. A small project team will work together to develop resources that will share the stories and values of multicultural women in our community.
The working group will meet monthly for 3 -4 months and you can attend virtually or in person. The co-design group will meet in early February.
A translator is available if required.
What's in it for you?
We recognise the value of your time and contributions. You will be remunerated for your time in line with NSW Health Guidelines.
You will work with a dedicated team of midwives who want to improve maternity care for multicultural women and families.
Your input will help to co-design an education resource for midwives to better understand the needs of multicultural women.
What happens next?
After you submit an Expression of Interest, our team will call you to tell you more about the project and find out what you might need to help you participate. If you don't want to join the working group, but would like to provide feedback in other ways, please let us know in the comments below.
