A strategy is a plan that says what we want to do and how we are going to do it.
The Disability Strategy will outline the steps we will take to make sure people with disability have fair access to care and feel respected and supported when using health services.
We want to hear from people with disability, their families, carers, and community members to understand what is working, what is not working and where things could be better.
The Disability Strategy will focus on:
- making health services easier to access
- improving how we listen and communicate with people with disability
- our role as an employer of people with disability
- creating welcoming and inclusive environments
- listening to lived experience
- designing services with, not just for, people with disability.
Who we want to hear from
We want to hear from:
- people with disability
- family members and carers
- supporters
- Aboriginal people with disability
- children and young people with disability
- health workers and service providers, including those with disability
- community members and advocacy groups.
