The Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) is working on a ten-year plan to guide the development of health services at Dubbo, Narromine and Wellington Health Services. This is called a Clinical Services Plan. The Clinical Services Plan for Dubbo, Narromine and Wellington Health Services is currently in draft form. This document is a summary of the larger Clinical Services Plan which is available on request.
What is a Clinical Services Plan?
A Clinical Services Plan looks at the current and future health needs of a community and talks about how services could be developed to meet those needs. A Clinical Services Plan is not a list of commitments. Some activities suggested in the plan might need additional resources (staff, funding or equipment) or more detailed planning before they can be delivered. A Clinical Services Plan might be used as part of planning if there are opportunities to develop or redevelop new health facilities.
How was the draft Clinical Services Plan developed?
The draft Clinical Services Plan for Dubbo, Narromine and Wellington Health Services was developed by:
- gathering information about the health and wellbeing of people living in and around those towns
- using data about population changes likely to occur in the future
- bringing that information together to see how health needs will change over time
- talking with staff, members of the communities, and with other organisations to learn more about health, social, and cultural needs.
